a brief &Co. History
It all began in a living room with some scrap leather & a few makeshift tools.
For months I searched high & low for a functional, moderately priced & well made phone case / every day wallet that would fit my then iPhone 5.
So with little success, growing frustration & a looming sense of doubting its very existence I decided to try my hand at leather craft. By no means did I intend to create a business, it didn’t even have a name until a year after the first wallet was made. It wasn’t until the fall of 2015 when things really started to take shape. It was then that Ampersand Leather Co. became a reality & I went from part time enthusiast to full time maker.

We make the conscious choice to create all of our goods by hand. Each good is hand-measured, hand-cut, hand-punched, hand-stitched & hand-finished. Completely hand-made from conception to completion. We pride ourselves in our process, it allows for a story to be written about each product through that process. A story that begins with hand choosing our cuts of leather, to the concept & design on through the creation & finishing.
Each product we make is meticulously designed & crafted in our shop in Seattle, Washington.
